Dr. Young-Hoo Kwon, Ph.D., Joins 4D Motion Sports

January 19, 2016

(Allendale, NJ) – 4D Motion Sports announced today that Dr. Young-Hoo Kwon, Ph.D., joined 4D Motion Sports as its Chief Science Advisor.

Dr. Kwon is Professor of Biomechanics at the Texas Woman’s University, Denton, TX and is widely considered the leading expert in golf biomechanics. Dr. Kwon has over 7 years of research and data of elite golf swings from around the globe. Dr. Kwon joins a panel of over 30 expert golf instructors on 4D Motion’s Advisory Panel. The combination of Dr. Kwon’s biomechanics expertise, the Advisory Panel’s golf expertise and 4D Motion’s technology create a revolutionary solution for golf instructors and their students.

“I look forward to working with the 4D Motion team.” Says Dr. Kwon. “4D Motion has created a solution that makes powerful motion capture technology easy to use, mobile and affordable – making it accessible and practical for all instructors. This will be great for instructors and great for the game.”

“We are extremely pleased that Dr. Kwon has chosen to work with us. Our collaboration is another step towards 4D Motion creating the best, most insightful motion capture and analytics solution in the market.” says Sang Kim, Founder and CEO.

4D Motion is a network of small, lightweight wireless sensors worn on the body and the golf club. 4D Motion requires only the sensors and a smartphone or tablet and can even be used during a round of golf where bad movements tend to emerge. The golfer’s setup and swing are captured in 3D and sent wirelessly to the mobile device. The software provides a 3D view from any angle, analysis of movement including paths, kinematics, speed, angles, angular velocities, overlay comparison of swings and much more. Instructors are able to show, comment on and review the student’s swing in a way that has never been done before. Preview video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdGF6SdilD0&feature=youtu.be.
