GolfBoard To Unveil New Advancements At 2016 PGA Merchandise Show

January 20, 2016

Innovative designs, customization options and special incentives showcased

during Demo Day and at booth #1161

(BEND, OR) – GolfBoard — the surf-inspired, motorized golf vehicle that is now available at more than 120 courses worldwide – will showcase new technologies, unique customization options and affordable 60-day trial lease terms at the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida January 26-29.

On display at Demo Day and at Booth #1161 will be demonstrations of the new commercial-use GolfBoard with enhanced designs for added durability and greater ease of use. Made-in-the-USA using military-inspired innovations, these new features include:

– Integrated Thumb Throttle: computer-assisted speed control with automatic breaking system

– Electromagnetic Parking Break: locking rear axle for parking on especially steep slopes

– Undercarriage Deflection System: motor and gearbox protection from extreme terrain

– Detachable Refreshment Cooler: convenient food and beverage storage plus onboard seating

– Customizable Deck: allows courses to brand boards with their company’s identity

“GolfBoard’s proven ability to improve pace of play, attract new players, and increase revenue has created rapidly growing global demand,” says John Wildman, CEO of GolfBoard. “Our consistent track record of generating significant increases in rounds played, combined with our short-term trial leasing options, allows courses a low-risk opportunity to see firsthand the contagious attraction of golfers of all ages and athletic abilities.”

Through a new 60-day trial program, properties can begin offering customers the thrill of GolfBoarding with no long-term commitment. Using recommended rental fees of $15 to $25 per round, just six to 10 uses covers the low monthly lease terms. With more than 40 percent of GolfBoarders being first-time players, GolfBoard provides significant revenue enhancement opportunities.

In addition to the financial benefits of a GolfBoard rental fleet offering, a GolfBoarding program offers additional benefits such as:

– Reduced Turf wear: only 25 percent of the footprint of a golf cart, with 75 percent less weight

– Course Differentiation: provides a unique new offering that attracts players from other courses

– Publicity & Referrals: generates strong media attention and positive word-of-mouth buzz

Conceived by Bally Total Fitness Founder Don Wildman and legendary big wave surfer Laird Hamilton and now popular with both professionals and amateurs alike, GolfBoarding is an entirely new way to traverse the golf course, forever changing the way golfers experience the game. The four-wheel drive board allows users to turn by simply transferring their body weight in a carving motion akin to snowboarding or surfing. Much more active and healthful than sitting in a cart, GolfBoarding keeps players in motion between shots and has proven to help many golfers improve their game.

Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, GolfBoards are ultra-durable and built with a safety-first and user-friendly mantra to provide golfers a more active and engaging alternative to riding in a cart. Advanced technology allows GolfBoarders to customize board settings and configurations, including adjusting speeds from 6 to 10 mph via a simple, one-touch switch. Safe to operate and easy to learn, excitement for GolfBoarding spans generations from teens to baby boomers.

Available since April 2014, early adopters of GolfBoard have realized increases of up to 30 percent in rounds played, plus low-handicap golfers can improve pace of play by as much as 50 percent. GolfBoard is now offered at more than 120 courses in the US, Canada, Mexico and the UK. More than 300 additional private, daily-fee and resort courses are scheduled for product delivery over the next 90 days, and hundreds of individual golfers – including PGA Tour stars and A-List celebrities – have purchased GolfBoards for personal use at their favorite courses.
