LENOX, Mass. – Kay McMahon, has been selected as one of the speakers and presenters at the 2016 PGA Show Education Conference, January 27-29, at the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, Fla. Kay will be leading a workshop entitled “Disrupting Traditional Teaching” based on her trademarked teaching method Golf 8.5™ on Friday, January 29, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., in Room W110A.

Kay has received numerous accolades and honors over her distinguished teaching career. She is an LPGA Teaching & Club Professional Hall of Fame member, a PGA of America Quarter Century Class A Member, Golf Digest 50 Best Women Teachers in America, and Past National LPGA T&CP President. In addition, Kay has been recognized as the Northeast N.Y. PGA Section Teacher of the Year, is a two-time Horton Smith Award winner and was the 1995 LPGA Teacher of the Year. Kay is a Top 3 finalist in the Player Development category for the 23rd Annual International Network of Golf Industry Honors to be awarded Thursday January 28, 2016 at 12:30 p.m., at the PGA Show, Room 309 A&B.

Kay, a native of Minnesota, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education at the University of Minnesota Duluth. For more than 23 years, she taught in Palm Springs, Calif., 10 years at Ironwood Country Club for Arnold Palmer and 13 years as the Teaching Professional at The Lakes Country Club, Palm Desert, Calif.

In 2002, Kay established and has successfully directed eduKaytion golf headquartered at Cranwell Spa & Golf Resort in Lenox, Mass. Kay has been teaching for more than 30 years, growing the game through her extraordinarily simple approach of teaching, trademarked as Golf 8.5.
