PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (January 25, 2016) – The GolfTalk Live radio show – voted the No. 1 Golf Radio Show in America three times in the last seven years – continues to grow. The weekly radio show, hosted by Tony Leodora on the 50,000-watt flagship station WNTP 990-AM in Philadelphia, has added a third ESPN Radio station – ESPN 1160 AM in Lehighton, PA.
The latest expansion follows another major expansion that took place in March of 2015. At that time GolfTalk Live added its award-winning program to the ESPN Lehigh Valley stable of original programming on ESPN 1230-AM and 1320-AM airing from 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday mornings.
The stations cover Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, as well as portions of Central New Jersey and the Pocono Mountains. They are also the exclusive home of Lehigh University athletics.
“The greatest accomplishment of GolfTalk Live, as we approach ten years on the air, is providing consistent golf and golf lifestyle programming for our listeners in the region,” said Leodora. “With all of the new audiences that we reach – since our first expansion to WOND 1400-AM at the Jersey Shore in 2012 – our challenge becomes greater … but we embrace it. Congratulations go to ESPN program director Tom Fallon and the rest of his team on the expansion.”
In addition to the weekly show, Leodora will team with the personalities on the three ESPN stations for special reports and interviews throughout the year. Also, he will rely on the ESPN on-air people, especially Bob Holder of “After Further Review,” for golf news from the Pocono Mountains and commentary on regional and national stories.
“We are very excited to add 1160AM WBYN and expand our coverage area to the good people of Carbon County,” says ESPN LV program director, Tom Fallon. “We feel the combination of play-by-play and fantastic local shows like Golf Talk Live that we provide to our listeners is unrivaled. I am sure the golfers in Carbon County will be dialed in every Saturday morning at 10 a.m.”
GolfTalk Live airs 52 weeks a year — 7 to 8 a.m. each Saturday. In addition, flagship station WNTP 990-AM – the home of Penn State athletics and St. Joe’s University basketball in Philadelphia — and the Lehigh Valley affiliates, the show also airs 3 to 4 p.m. on WOND 1400-AM in South Jersey and on The Golf Director Network, nationally and internationally. It also can be heard via live online stream on Saturdays at 7 a.m. on www.newstalk990.com, 10 a.m. on www.espnlv.com and at 3 p.m. on www.WONDradio.com, as well as any time after the show airs by going to the website, www.golftalklive.net.
