Golfweek, Greenskeeper.org and Golf Advisor all rank Indian Wells at the top
Indian Wells, Calif. (January 26, 2016) Indian Wells Golf Resort is pleased to announce it appeared at the top of several 2015 golf rankings, including “Best Playing Conditions” in Palm Springs by Greenskeeper.org, “Top 25 Best Courses You Can Play” in California by Golfweek and 4.6 Stars (out of 5) on Golf Advisor.
These prestigious awards come on the heels of Indian Wells Golf Resort being recognized in 2014 as the California Golf Course Owners Association Course of the Year. This honor is bestowed upon a golf facility that meets criteria in a variety of areas: course quality and resource management, commitment to player development & growth of the game, as well as community outreach.
Greenskeeper.org collects reviews and ratings from more than 65,000 golfers that are tabulated to determine the annual winners. 2015 marks the second year in a row in which Indian Wells Golf Resort was recognized with this award. Golfweek has included one of the courses at Indian Wells Golf Resort for eight consecutive years (2008-2015) on their list of the “Top 25 Best Courses You Can Play” in California. Golfers all over the world have given their praise to Indian Wells through Golf Advisor. The facility has a ranking of 4.6 stars (out of 5).
A golfer who recently played at Indian Wells Golf Resort stated, “This course is on our must-play list every year. There are three things that I consider that makes a course great: the layout/design, the conditions and the scenery/views. The Celebrity course has all three. It is one of the prettiest courses we have ever played and it presents a challenge for all levels of golfer. We love this course and will continue to play it regularly.”
“We are thrilled to have Indian Wells Golf Resort recognized by several prominent golf publications,” stated Steven Rosen, general manager, Indian Wells Golf Resort. “Our entire team is committed to making Indian Wells Golf Resort a must play for all golfers that visit the Coachella Valley.”
Designed by course architect Clive Clark, the Celebrity Course measures just over 7,000 yards. Playability, diversity, and challenge are among the highlights of this desert masterpiece, which features breathtaking mountain views and stunning water features. The Players Course, designed by John Fought, is a brilliant contrast to the Celebrity Course, measuring more than 7,300 yards. The course was completed in 2007 and features dynamic bunkering and generous fairway corridors. The undulating topography delivers an added challenge and interest to every approach shot.
Indian Wells Golf Resort also encompasses a 53,000 square-foot clubhouse. This multi-purpose facility boasts a complete package of world-class golf and desert lifestyle offerings. Clubhouse amenities include a golf shop with a variety of retail offerings, as well as Vue Grille & Bar that offers award winning cuisine, creative cocktails, fresh sushi and more. The Pavilion at Indian Wells Golf Resort, with glass on three sides and commanding views of the Santa Rosa Mountains, is the perfect venue for weddings, banquets, corporate meetings and special events.
