SAN FRANCISCO, CA. – STATE APPAREL unveils the “HIGHWAY 1 Collection” today at the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show, January 27-29, in Orlando, Florida.
Although Highway 1 runs along nearly all of the California coast, the collection is inspired by the distinct beauty of the iconic stretch of highway starting in Big Sur, driving north through the Monterey Peninsula, and arriving in San Francisco, the company’s home. The drive emanates the pure essence of coastal California, from wind swept cypress groves, sprawling sand dunes, coastal mist, rocky cliffs dropping into the deep blue pacific extending to broad horizons and the setting sun.
“We try our best to stay true to our roots when designing and manufacturing our clothing, and this part of Highway 1 is a natural connection to who we are, where we’re from, and our functional clothing designed for coastal links-style golf. We’re lucky to have this iconic strip of highway pass through our city and we hope to convey the essence through our collection.” said Jason Yip, Founder and CEO of STATE APPAREL.
With a nod to San Francisco’s authentic denim heritage, STATE APPAREL brings indigo dyed polos and woven chambray collars to the golf course. Indigo dyeing is a natural artisanal process that creates uniquely deep blues which fade over time for a genuinely personalized garment.
Curated with social responsibility in mind, the collection brings a perfect blend of performance fabrics and natural fibers, ranging from recycled polyester, to 100% cotton, and sustainably harvested wood buttons. All garments are manufactured in San Francisco.
The colors for the collection are a mix of dark and light shades of indigo blue, pink and green. With the addition of some neutral tones, buyers and consumers can work with multiple color stories across a variety of polo styles, pullovers, pants and hats. The palette easily translates to island and desert resorts as well as international destinations.
The collection incorporates STATE APPAREL’s functional and innovative wiping layers into shirts and pants for cleaning hands, clubs and golf balls, These are truly useful and stylish garments perfect for damp and dirty fall golf.
“For all of its unique and socially responsible details, we’re really excited about our Highway 1 Collection and think it’s our best yet. With all of the traction we’re getting at premium resorts, private clubs, and online, we can’t wait to share with the world of golf at the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show.” said Jason Yip, Founder and CEO of STATE APPAREL.
