(Grand Rapids, Mich.) The 28th West Michigan Golf Show in Grand Rapids, opening this weekend at DeVos Place, precedes another popular event-the Grammy awards on Sunday night.

Research shows millennials love to play golf while listening to their favorite music and artists. So let’s take a look-with a tongue in cheek-at the Grammy-nominated songs and artists from a Golf Show perspective:

“1989”-Taylor Swift’s celebrated album calls to mind the first West Michigan Golf Show on March 4-5, 1989 with headliners Hank Haney (later Tiger Woods’ teacher) and Evan “Big Cat” Williams.

“Girl Crush”-This chart-topping country song describes Friday’s Ladies Night at the Golf Show when the first 500 women receive a goodie bag.

“Uptown Funk”-The Bruno Mars hit is really about Fred Funk, Champions Tour player, who plays with the Taylor Made club brand found at the Show’s new Ferris State PGA Golf Management Club Testing Area.

“Can’t Feel My Face”-Record of the Year nominee sums up a player’s frustration with hitting solid iron shots. Remedy? Take a free lesson at the Show, thanks to the pros from the Michigan PGA.

“Trap Queen”-Golf Show attendee who’s an expert bunker and wedge player at the Treetops Par-3 Challenge where an ace on Sunday might earn $25,000.

“Traveller”-Chris Stapleton’s country hit sings about the many golf and resort destinations found inside DeVos Place, including a number with special Golf Show pricing and instant tee-times.

“Beauty Behind the Madness”-Michael Breed, headliner and the host of Golf Channel’s The Golf Fix, may lip synch this tune on the Applied Imaging Seminar State, explaining why golfers still love the game even though they’re confounded by their swings.

“Pinkprint”-Nicki Minaj’s rap album suggests all the colorful golf apparel on sale at the Show by retailers and golf courses alike.

“A Full Life: Reflections at Ninety”-Former President Jimmy Carter’s spoken word album tells how he shot his age after “reportedly” taking a lesson with Saturday’s seminar presenter, Jason Guss, Michigan’s 2013 PGA Teacher of the Year.

“Hamilton”-This Broadway smash about the nation’s first Treasury Secretary reminds us his trademark $10 bill is the price of an adult ticket while children, ages 6-14, are $4 and children 5 and under are free.

Weeknd-This nominated artist, missing one vowel, stresses the Golf Show is Fb. 12-14.

Produced by ShowSpan, Inc., the West Michigan Golf Show is sponsored by Treetops Resort, Applied Imaging, Golf Association of Michigan, Michigan PGA, and Bridgestone Golf. The first 200 attendees each day receive a sleeve of Bridgestone e6 golf balls. Hours are 2:00 pm-9:00 pm, Friday; 10:00 am-7:00 pm, Saturday; and 10:00 am-5:00 pm, Sunday. Tickets will be available at the door as well as online at www.westmichigangolfshow.com
