VPAR Launches Tournament Management System in U.S.

February 12, 2016

(Chatham, NJ) – VPAR (www.vpar.com) – the award-winning technology company and pioneer of Live Golf Scoring – successfully introduced its club-focused Tournament Management System (TMS) at the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 27-29, 2016.

The web-based technology enables club managers and PGA Professionals to simplify, monetize and significantly enhance the player experience at their tournaments, outings and member events. Features include:

• Leaderboards displayed on clubhouse TVs and online

• Pairing and handicap management

• Pace of play reports and analysis

• Live scoring and GPS options

• Print functionality for scorecards, cart signs, etc.

• Customizable branding

• Data capture for visiting golfers

“The positive feedback from PGA Professionals at the show was incredible, demonstrated by our sales exceeding expectations,” says VPAR President and Managing Director Jason Stoop. “Having completed the design of the platform, we thought we’d created something ground-breaking but you never know how it will be received until the operational experts get to review it themselves. It was clear that they all shared in our philosophy of simplicity and ease of use.”

VPAR also discussed strategic partnerships with several top golf companies in Orlando, and demoed their award-winning mobile app and services to media during an exclusive outing at Dubsdread Golf Course.

“The reaction from media and PGA professionals, coupled with the recent GHIN Value Added Service Provider approval granted by the USGA, indicates that golf leaders are embracing VPAR,” says Stoop.

The USGA VASP status allows tournament organizers to automatically pull, push and update existing GHIN handicap indexes for members and guests directly from the TMS.

VPAR Live Scoring Tournament Service was used to score over 1,000 outings worldwide in 2015, for organizations like Audi, Shoprite, The Ronald McDonald House and the New York Yankees. The VPAR app was also a Top-5 “Sports” app during the PGA TOUR season and was recently featured in Golf Digest, The New York Times and Golfweek.

About VPAR

VPAR recreates the excitement of a professional tournament by allowing golfers to input scores on handheld devices and create a live leaderboard experience on the course, in the clubhouse and online. VPAR supplies over 1,000 events annually across 20 countries with its Live Scoring Tournament Service.

As the world’s No. 1 golf app and winner of the ‘Best Sports App’ at the Sports Technology Awards, VPAR’s technology is available for all golfers including buddy trips and golf vacations. In addition to live leaderboards, the app also includes GPS & course planner, performance tracking, a directory of 30,000 courses worldwide and full social sharing capability. Most recently, VPAR unveiled the Tournament Management System (TMS), a web-based platform for PGA Professionals and club managers to enhance the golfer experience, streamline operations, increase revenue and analyze data for tournaments, outings and member events.
