Golf In Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head Featured In Golfpac Travel’s Latest Edition Of Destinations Magazine

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL – The ascent of Myrtle Beach as one of the world’s top golf destinations did not actually happen overnight, though at times it seems that way.

Until the 1970’s, Myrtle Beach was a sleepy coastal town that lit up in the summer with vacationing families, then basically turned out the lights after Labor Day. Then golf courses and golf course communities began to pop up along the Grand Strand and by the 1990’s over 100 courses were open for play in Myrtle Beach.

While the golf was top shelf in those times, the level of accommodations, dining and nightlife lagged behind. My, how that has changed, and that is the subject of Tom Cunneff’s cover story in the new edition of Golfpac Travel’s Destinations Magazine, entitled “Myrtle Beach Madness.”

Writes Cunneff: “Myrtle Beach has long been renowned for superior golf, but in the last 10 years, the rest of the amenities have caught up. Nowadays, a vacation to this golf-crazy playground will also yield good food, improved accommodations, and all kinds of nightlife fun.”

Cunneff’s article provides highlights of several of Myrtle Beach’s best stay and play properties such as Legends Golf & Resort, Barefoot Resort and Kingston Plantation. He also points out some of the best 19th Holes and dining opportunities, and provides details of Golfpac’s best travel packages along the Grand Strand.

Cunneff didn’t stop at Myrtle Beach, traveling a couple of hours south for a story entitled “Legendary Lowcountry.” He features several properties in Hilton Head, including golf, accommodations and Golfpac’s packages.

Also in this issue, golf writer Scott Kramer writes about some of the best new apparel available on the shelves, clothes that will be perfect for your next trip to the South Carolina coast.

Golfpac Travel creates custom packages using net room and golf rates wherever possible. Packages include accommodations, green fees, golf carts, car rentals, taxes and any other features available through specific hotel or golf resorts.
