Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. – Nancy Dofflemyer of Ocean Pines, Maryland and Karla Harding of Windsor, Colorado will be honored with the Nancy Oliver Founder’s Award during the EWGA 25th Anniversary Celebration and Golf Experience in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia from April 22-24. Founded in 1991 as the Executive Women’s Golf Association, EWGA is the largest women-focused national amateur golf association in the United States with Chapters located in more than 100 cities as well as international Chapters in Bermuda, Canada and Italy.
The award recognizes members who display exceptional long-term volunteer leadership and service to the association and exemplify the spirit and mission of the EWGA which is enriching women’s lives through the game of golf. It is named for its first recipient in 2000, Nancy Oliver, EWGA Founder.
Dofflemyer is the founder and first president of the EWGA Eastern Shore, MD Chapter, which is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year. She has continuously held leadership positions with the Chapter and numerous terms as President, including this year. She is founder and Chair for the Pink Ribbon Classic, benefiting the American Cancer Society which has been a Chapter charity event since 1997. Dofflemyer also has served as a Chapter Development Specialist and Sectional Director for the association.
Harding joined the EWGA Northern Colorado Chapter in 2002 and served in many local volunteer positions including Chapter President in 2006-2007. In 2008, she joined the EWGA Championship Committee; a team of spirited volunteers that help administer and conduct EWGA’s marquee national competitive events with more than 2,500 participants annually. She has served as a key leader on EWGAs Tournament Operations Team with expertise in administering the rules of golf. This team conducts 15 semi-final tournaments plus a 2-Day National Championship Final each year. This group also annually runs eight regional qualifiers and the EWGA Cup Final. Harding concluded her eighth year of service on these committees in 2015. Additionally, she serves on the Women’s TRANS National Golf Association, the USGA Senior Women’s Amateur Committee and is a past member of the USGA’s Women’s Amateur Public Links Committee.
The women will receive the Nancy Oliver Founder’s Award at the Saturday Night Gala on April 23. The star-studded evening includes Nancy Lopez, who is receiving the 2016 EWGA Leadership Award, a toast from LPGA and Legends Tour professional, Jan Stephenson as well as a keynote address from Dawn Hudson, Chief Marketing Officer of the National Football League.

“Nancy has been a dedicated leader, cheerleader and role model for the Eastern Shore Chapter and played a significant mentoring role when the EWGA University of Maryland Eastern Shore student chapter launched last year,” added Swensen, “Karla’s strategic implementation of a team competition led to the national launch of the 2011 EWGA Champions Cup which has grown from just a few hundred participants to more than 800 in 2015.”
The EWGA 25th Anniversary Celebration and Golf Experience starts on Friday April 22 at the Golden Horseshoe Driving Range with a Fueling Your Game opening event leading into the Welcome Reception and Marketplace.
