Scottsdale, Ariz. (February 22, 2016) – Troon,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is delighted to announce its first contract in Germany at Golf Club Pfalz, Neustadt.
Located in the celebrated “Perle der Pfalz” wine region, between Neustadt and the Cathedral City of Speyer in Southwest Germany, Golf Club Pfalz stretches 6,638 yards through natural woodland and is surrounded by forests and meadows. The course was established in 1970.
Troon has been tasked with assisting the agronomy team in elevating the golf course conditioning to a level comparable to other Troon facilities around the world, thus enhancing the enjoyment for club members, as well as local and international guests.
“We’re delighted to be working with such a superb venue like Golf Club Pfalz which is committed to providing the best experience for its members,” said Bruce Glasco, chief operating officer, managing director, Troon International Division. “It’s an exciting time for the club and this initiative provides a fantastic opportunity to enhance the course for the strong membership base. We are looking for our initial work to lay the foundation for improvements that will carry the club forward for many years to come.”
Golf Club Pfalz has more than 1,000 members and regularly hosts competitions and tournaments. The 18-hole course is complemented by a beautiful clubhouse with a 100-seat dining room and a spacious terrace with views of the closing holes.
“Troon has had a longstanding privileged position in Europe,” said Michael Loeffler, Golf Club Pfalz president. “We wanted to elevate the standards of our course and Troon was the clear choice for us.”
Under the guidance of Simon Doyle, Troon’s director of agronomy for Europe, the course and its agronomy team will advance the overall golf presentation, enhancing year-round playability and improving turf conditioning across the board.
The selection of Troon to manage the golf course reaffirms the market-leader’s ability to deliver worldwide, meeting the diverse requirements of each and every region. German golfers have long experienced Troon facilities while traveling to other golf destinations, including the United Arab Emirates, Spain and the UK.
The agreement with Golf Club Pfalz also demonstrates Troon’s ability to offer a diverse array of services through customized contracts, meeting the needs of ownership and, subsequently, its members and guests with absolute attention to detail and quality.
