Since 1997, the Arnold Palmer Cup has gained popularity year after year as it has now become a prestigious, Ryder Cup style tournament among collegiate golfers. The tournament was originally played between collegiate players from The United States, Great Britain and Ireland until 2003 when the tournament restructured to become U.S.A. vs. Europe. Arnold Palmer Cup alumni have gone on to claim 160 victories on the PGA or European Tours since its start in 1997 and past participants include such names as Graeme McDowell, Hunter Mahan, Bill Haas and Luke Donald.
The 2016 Arnold Palmer Cup will be played at Formby Golf Club in England on June 24-26, 2016.
