BELLINGHAM, Wash. – SteelFiber graphite iron shafts, designed and manufactured by Aerotech Golf, delivered the win at the Holden NZPGA Championship on the PGA Tour Australia, and scored a Top 10 finish at the HSBC Women’s Champions on the LPGA Tour.
Playing SteelFiber i110s in his irons and SteelFiber i125s in his wedges, the 22-year pro Aussie shot a 22-under par (70-65-64-67) to capture a two-stroke victory at the Holden NZPGA Championship in Auckland, New Zealand. Meanwhile, a two-year player playing the SteelFiber J108 in her irons claimed a share of Top Five money with a T4 finish at the HSBC Women’s Champions in Singapore.
“We congratulate the NZPGA Championship winner on his first victory of the year,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “The desire for superior performance benefits knows no international borders, so it’s not surprising that SteelFiber shafts are becoming increasingly popular among players, both in United States and abroad. Unlike steel shafts, SteelFiber delivers stability, increased distance and more. SteelFiber game-changing technology also reduces the risk of injury, lessens aggravation of existing injuries and decreases player fatigue, all of which allow players to play their best for a longer time.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
In 2015, SteelFiber shafts delivered seven wins – three on the PGA Tour and two each on the Champions and LPGA Tours. The previous year was equally successful with SteelFiber chalking up five wins on the PGA TOUR and two more on the Champions Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List.
