(KAUA’I, Hawaii) – Three Kaua’i golf courses earned places in “Golfweek’s Best: State-By-State Courses You Can Play, 2016” rankings, released in print and online.
The following properties were recognized:
• Princeville Makai Golf Club at The St. Regis Princeville Resort (No. 4)
• Poipu Bay Golf Course at Grand Hyatt Kaua’i Resort & Spa (No. 6)
• The Ocean Course at H?k?ala (No. 12)
Each year hundreds of experienced Golfweek raters survey the nation’s best courses based on ease and intimacy of routing, variety of holes, conditioning and memorability.
“Along with Puakea Golf Course and Wailua Golf Course, Kauai golf appeals to players who value high-quality courses amid the island’s bountiful natural blessings,” said Sue Kanoho, executive director of the Kaua’i Visitor’s Bureau. “No two golf destinations on the ‘Garden Isle’ are alike, each with a beautiful setting and ambiance to its own. When you add complementing resorts and amenities to these spectacular courses, Kaua’i truly becomes a golfer’s paradise.”
Princeville Makai Golf Club remained the No. 4-ranked public course in Hawaii. Located on the North Shore, the Robert Trent Jones Jr. design provides panoramic ocean and mountain views, challenging golfers as it winds its way to the magnificent coastline.
Poipu Bay, which hosted the PGA Grand Slam of Golf for 12 years is another Robert Trent Jones, Jr. masterpiece. The ocean-links style course is set between lush mountains and 150-foot ocean cliffs on Kaua’i?s sunny south shore.
The Ocean Course at H?k?ala is the lone Jack Nicklaus Signature course on Kaua’i. The course boasts the longest stretch of continuous oceans holes in the state.
