Plays his third event of 2016 with Volvik this week in Louisiana
Volvik, the #1 Color Golf Ball on Tour, announces the signing of Web.com Tour player Travis Bertoni to a two-year endorsement contract.
Bertoni currently plays the Volvik S4 4-piece golf ball and will play his third Web.com Tour event of the 2016 season playing Volvik this week at the first domestic stop of the 2016 season, the Chitimacha Louisiana Open.
Bertoni, an 11-time collegiate champion at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, played his first fully exempt season on the Web.com Tour in 2010. He has since collected eight Top 10 finishes, including two runner-up finishes. In the 92 Web.com Tour events he has played in, Bertoni has earned 22 Top 25 finishes, or 23% of the events he has started in.
He finished the 2015 season ranked 40th on the Web.com Tour money list and finished 2014th ranked 43rd. He has earned $383,954 in his six years on the Web.com Tour. He currently ranks 50th on the 2016 Web.com Tour money list after two events, earning a T23 finish in his second event playing Volvik at the Club Colombia Championship.
“I am very excited to be joining the Volvik professional staff in my quest for my PGA TOUR card,” said Bertoni. “I did extensive testing with the golf ball and I found it to be an extremely high performance golf ball that is extremely long off the tee and responsive around the greens. After I tested the Volvik balls, I felt they gave me a leg up on the competition and my best chance of going out there and putting up low scores on a week to week basis.”
Bertoni turned professional in 2006 as a 22-year-old and qualified for the 2008 U.S. Open held at Torrey Pines. At Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, he finished in the Top 5 a total of 23 times in 45 career college events. His 11 victories tied him for fourth on the all-time NCAA career win list.
