FRENCH LICK, IN – Jan Stephenson, LPGA Superstar, Legends Tour golfer, golf course designer and business leader, will be the special guest host of the Alice Dye Invitational, French Lick Resort’s annual celebration of women’s golf Sunday through Tuesday, Aug. 7-9.
Amateur women golfers can take part by booking The Alice Dye Invitational Package with a teammate. The package includes two nights at the Historic West Baden Springs Hotel or French Lick Springs Hotel, a Casino Slot tournament at the French Lick Casino with a “Beat The Pro Jan Stephenson” format on Sunday evening, a wine tasting reception in the famous West Baden lobby featuring Jan Stephenson Wines on Monday evening, breakfast and lunch for two days, competitive golf with handicap on the Donald Ross and Pete Dye courses Monday and Tuesday and more.
Stephenson is a favorite at French Lick where she has competed for the last three years in The Legends Championship hosted by the resort. Last year she won the “Super Legends” division in the championship by shooting even-par 144 in the 36 holes of competition. The 2016 championship is Aug. 19-21.
During the Alice Dye Invitational weekend Stephenson will interact with participants, share her knowledge of golf and business as well as wine via one of her newest ventures – Broken Earth Winery in Paso Robles, Calif.
The competition will take place over two days (Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 8-9) featuring a four-person Shambles format on the Donald Ross course and a four-person Best-Ball round on the Pete Dye course. Two two-person teams of golfers will be paired up in competing foursomes based on handicap.
Two packages are available for booking: The Alice Dye Invitational Package at $779 per person based on double room occupancy includes a practice round at the Donald Ross course; the Alice Dye Invitational with a Pete Dye practice round is $889 per person based on double occupancy.
