Environmental Institute for Golf program has raised more than $400,000 since 2012.
Lawrence, Kan. (Month. 00, 2016) – Rounds 4 Research kicks off its online auction April 1-10 at www.biddingforgood.com/EIFG with more than 700 rounds of golf (each round includes two or four players) at courses in 36 states plus Canada, the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica and Switzerland.
Rounds 4 Research is a venture of the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic arm of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). It is presented in partnership with The Toro Co., and funds generated from the auction will go to support research-related activities of GCSAA, its affiliated chapters and regional turfgrass organizations. Since launching in 2012, Rounds 4 Research has raised more than $400,000 for turfgrass research, education and advocacy programs. The 2015 auction raised more than $112,500.
Some of the high-profile facilities that have donated rounds for the April auction include Sage Valley Golf Club in Graniteville, S.C., just outside of Augusta, and Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C. In addition, French Lick (Ind.) Springs Resort has generously donated two stay-and-play packages that include golf at the Pete Dye course and the Donald Ross course.
“We thank all of the facilities that have contributed to this Rounds 4 Research program,” said Rhett Evans, chief executive officer of GCSAA. “Rounds 4 Research is a great way to bring golfers together to support research for the long-term health of this great game.”
Several management companies have joined the effort to support research, including Marriott Golf, the PGA Tour TPC network of courses, Billy Casper Golf and Founders Club International in the Myrtle Beach, S.C., area.
