on August 15th, 2016 at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ
Bedminster, N.J., March 29, 2016…The New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the charitable arm of the New Jersey Section, PGA of America (NJPGA), today announced that Pamela Liebman, President & CEO of The Corcoran Group, a leading New York City real estate firm, has been named the recipient of the NJGF’s 2016 Chairman’s Award. Liebman will be recognized at the 10th Annual NJGF Golf Classic, which will be held at the famed Baltusrol Golf Club — host venue of the 2016 PGA Championship — on Monday, August 15th, 2016.
The NJGF Golf Classic is the signature event on the NJGF’s annual calendar, and the Chairman’s Award is given annually to an individual who works tirelessly behind the scenes to support the NJGF’s programs and initiatives. The NJGF was created in 2004 to positively impact lives and communities through the game of golf, with a focus on 3 core pillars, youth, military and special needs. Under the guidance of PGA Professionals, dynamic programming is designed to provide individuals from all backgrounds an opportunity to experience the game of golf in a welcoming environment. Liebman has been a strong supporter of golf programming since the Foundation’s inception.
Liebman joined The Corcoran Group as a young agent where she was quickly recognized for her natural leadership abilities and success in building the Corcoran business. Her innate talent for anticipating market trends and capitalizing on market opportunities led to her being appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in 2000. Through her extraordinary vision, she has positioned The Corcoran Group as an industry leader in residential and new development sales and marketing and expanded the firm’s reach into the most prestigious real estate markets in the country. Liebman leads 2,200 Corcoran agents who achieved sales of over $21 billion in 2015.
Today, she is recognized as one of the most accomplished executives in the real estate industry in the NY Metropolitan area. A nationally recognized market expert, Liebman is a popular lecturer throughout the city, and is frequently quoted in leading news organizations such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNN, MSNBC, National Public Radio and Bloomberg.
“Pamela Liebman works tirelessly to support the New Jersey Golf Foundation, and its mission to positively impact lives and communities through the game of golf,” said Pete Bevacqua, CEO, PGA of America. “The NJGF’s line-up of programming in collaboration with PGA REACH is impacting lives and making a difference across New Jersey, and Pamela’s support has been instrumental in providing individuals from all backgrounds with access to the game of golf.”
Liebman also serves in many philanthropic capacities to support many community organizations, including the New Jersey Golf Foundation. In fact, Liebman has played an integral role in supporting some of the key NJGF golf programs, highlighted by “Golf In Schools,” an initiative that introduces the game of golf to children by incorporating the sport into the physical education curriculum at elementary and middle schools, under the guidance of PGA Professionals. An astounding 110,000 children (K-8) at more than 200 schools participate in the program which continues to grow every year throughout New Jersey.
Additionally, Liebman’s advocacy of the NJGF has been instrumental in the growth of PGA HOPE, Helping Our Patriots Everywhere, the NJGF’s flagship military program that introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities, and she is also passionate about other programs such as PGA Junior League, Els For Autism and the support of golf programming in conjunction with Special Olympics NJ, among others.
“Pamela is a well-respected leader, and her passion to succeed is contagious,” said Chris Hunt, Executive Director, NJGF. “Her advocacy of NJGF programming is inspiring, and I’m thrilled she is being recognized for her contributions to the game of golf and the growth of our Foundation.”
There are several opportunities and sponsorship levels for corporations and avid golfers to participate in the 2016 NJGF Golf Classic.
