Golfing families are invited for a fun day of free golf activities & instruction;
annual event to take place at Marriott Golf Academy
PALM DESERT, Calif. – March 29, 2016… Golfers of all ages and abilities are invited to join their family members and experience the true meaning of “togetherness on the links,” highlighted by FREE golf activities and instruction. Marriott’s Shadow Ridge Golf Club, located at Marriott’s Shadow Ridge Resort in Palm Desert, Calif., today announced its annual Family Golf Festival will take place on Friday, April 1, 2016, from noon to 4p.m. at the Marriott Golf Academy, located at 9002 Shadow Ridge Rd., Palm Desert, Calif.
The Marriott Family Golf Festival offers a welcoming environment where families, including women, boys & girls, military Veterans, parents and grandparents can learn and play the game together. Attendees will enjoy exciting carnival games and contests for golfers of all skill levels, highlighted by a putting contest from noon to 2p.m., followed by a one-hour instructional clinic (2 p.m. to 3 p.m.) conducted by Marriott Golf Academy Certified Instructor and longtime PGA Professional, Mike Ellis.
As part of the festivities, guests will have the opportunity to test out the latest equipment innovations of the season, as an assortment of golf club manufacturers will have representatives on-site hosting a Demo Day from noon to 3p.m. Additionally, all attendees will have the chance to win a variety of prizes throughout the day, including rounds of golf, and instructional sessions.
In addition to core events at the one-day Family Golf Festival, after 3 p.m. adults can take advantage of special rates and children can play golf for free as part of Marriott Golf’s “Kids Golf-4-Free” program. Launched in 2006, “Kids Golf-4-Free” is a first-of-its-kind program that enables kids up to 15 years old to golf for free when accompanied by a full paying adult after 3 p.m. (tee times must be reserved). In addition, Marriott Golf offers free lessons anytime to kids up to 15 years old when accompanied by an adult who is taking a fully paid lesson from a Marriott Golf instructor.
