Environmental Institute for Golf program on behalf of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America benefits research and education
Lawrence, Kan. (April 5, 2016) – Marriott Golf, one of the world’s premier golf operators, is supporting the 2016 Rounds 4 Research auction with 20 of its managed courses generously donating rounds of golf in eight states and three foreign countries, including golf-rich Costa Rica. The Rounds 4 Research program, which offers golfers the opportunity to bid on tee times in support of industry research, will be open through April 10 at www.biddingforgood.com/eifg, with more than 700 rounds of golf available (each round listed is for two or four players).
Rounds 4 Research is a venture of the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic arm of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), and is presented in partnership with The Toro Co. Funds generated from the auction will support GCSAA research-related activities, its affiliated chapters and regional turfgrass organizations. Since launching nationally in 2012, Rounds 4 Research has raised more than $400,000 for turfgrass research, education and advocacy programs. The 2015 auctions raised $112,500.
“It is exciting to think of the possibilities of the Rounds 4 Research program when Marriott Golf and other GCSAA industry partners come together to give golfers a great way to support the long-term health of this great game,” said Rhett Evans, GCSAA chief executive officer.
“Marriott Golf is committed to promoting environmental sustainability, and we are a proud supporter of the Rounds 4 Research initiative in collaboration with EIFG,” said Brett Stark, senior director, marketing & eCommerce.
