Lee Clapp, National Golf Buyer’s Association Executive Director said, “Our goal is to recruit not only retail operations that contribute to our volume and buying power, but also outstanding people with passion, creativity and who excel at executing. Our newest member, Turning Stone Resort Casino, brings all of that to our organization and more.”
Over the last two decades, Turning Stone Resort Casino has evolved into a leading destination resort, featuring five golf courses, four award-winning hotels, two luxurious spas, more than 21 restaurants and dining options, Las Vegas style gaming, endless entertainment, and several bars, cocktail lounges and nightlife venues. Home to several top 100 courses, offering 72 holes of golf spread over nearly 1,000 acres, four separate golf shops, a Golf Superstore, which includes the state-of-the-art TaylorMade Tuned Performance Center, and an indoor Golf Dome, Turning Stone is one of the most awarded golf destinations in the Northeast. The golf shops total 10,000 square feet and feature just about every golf product imaginable within them, all managed by Turning Stone’s Director of Golf Operations, Miles Blundell, the 2015 PGA Merchandiser of the Year.
Clapp said, “I’ve known Miles and the Turning Stone team for several years; our members will all definitely enjoy working with them and discussing best practices.”
Turning Stone first provided a backdrop for the PGA Tour’s B.C. Open in 2006, followed by the PGA of America’s PGA Professional Championship in 2006. Most notably, the Turning Stone Resort Championship, a PGA TOUR event from 2007 to 2010, solidified the resort’s status as a true contender for national events. Returning a decade later, Turning Stone will host the PGA Professional Championship again this year June 26-29 at Atunyote and Kaluhyat Golf Clubs – during the PGA’s centennial anniversary.
