The dream foursome – golf bags, travel, apparel and shoes – leads to double digit growth in Q1 for private company
Draper, Utah – OGIO’s adrenaline driven, off- course fashion meets on-course technology approach to creating long-lasting products has produced another record sales quarter.
The big hitter teeing off first and driving one out there 300+ was the Silencer Cart and Stand bag in a variety of new fashion prints. The Silencer technology not only eliminates the clang and bang of your clubs on and off the course, but the four new fashion prints allow any golfer to find a bag that represents their individuality, whether aggressive, traditional, conservative, techy or athletic.
Fresh off the lesson tee and presenting it’s newly, reworked swing was player 2, OGIO Travel. Smartly designed to be lighter, but just as durable for today’s travel conditions, OGIO offers a good, better, best offering at $100 (Savage), $150 (Straight Jacket) and $200 (Mutant) retail. The choice of many of the most recognizable men’s and women’s Tour players in the world, OGIO’s reputation in the travel world is second to none. The combination of adding a value price point while expanding our print offering in the upper price points has led to significant distribution expansion.
“Demand for the Silencer series and our new travel collections outpaced our production in Q1. We simply sold out of several collections and have been working diligently to catch up with our production,” commented OGIO Global Vice President Tom Gocke. “With containers arriving every week right now, we feel well positioned to continue our growth streak in Q2.”
Rounding out the foursome in the three and four spots, generally playing from the rough, were OGIO’s newest golf apparel and shoe collections. Both designed for the golfer who prefers to walk off of the fairway, OGIO’s latest looks get their inspiration from OGIO’s adrenaline sports heritage, refined to feel right in the most proper of clubhouses.
“In the apparel and shoe world, it’s a David and Goliath story for us against the established giants. We simply have to offer unique designs, coupled with better performing materials and at a strong value,” said Gocke. “In Q1, these collections were adopted by and are performing with most of the major retailers in the business, offered as a unique alternative to the same/same offerings that many retailers were finding themselves caught up in.”
The strategy is working as the company now has their products in more than 2,800 green grass shops as well as in every national retail chain. And the number grows daily.
While OGIO is proud of its Q1 revenue accomplishments, it is equally as proud of its commitment to helping military veterans through its partnership with NS2 Serves. Each year in May, OGIO debuts a specially designed military bag collection with proceeds from it’s sale going to the organization who puts veterans through an intensive 12-week business course and finds them jobs upon graduation.
“NS2 Serves is an incredible organization who donates 100% of its contributions to helping veterans rebuild their lives after serving our country,” said Gocke. “We are so proud to be partners and our hope is to double our 2015 contribution this year.”
