On May 4, top coaches will participate in full day of televised teaching
Orlando, Fla. (April 28, 2016) – Seven Golf Channel Academy coaches from across the country will have starring roles when the inaugural National Instruction Day takes place on May 4.
The teachers – Cheryl Anderson, Mike Bender, Martin Hall, Todd Sones, Jeff Ritter, Trent Wearner and Kevin Weeks – will be front and center in the first full day of live programming devoted to helping golfers improve their games. National Instruction Day is a joint partnership of the PGA of America and Golf Channel.
From 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. EST, Golf Channel will devote its programming to instruction from the game’s finest teachers, broadcast from six courses around the country and the network’s Orlando, Fla., studios.
Coaches from Golf Channel Academy will make appearances on air throughout the day at the following courses and times:
• 7 a.m.-10 a.m.: Jeff Ritter co-hosts National Instruction Day programming on “Morning Drive” from Golf Channel studios (Orlando, Fla.)
• 11 a.m.-noon: Martin Hall at his home base, Ibis Golf & Country Club (West Palm Beach, Fla.)
• 4 p.m.-5 pm.: Todd Sones and Kevin Weeks at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club (Lemont Township, Ill.)
• 7 p.m.-8 p.m.: Trent Wearner at Fossil Trace Golf Club (Golden, Colo.)
• 9 p.m.-11 p.m.: Cheryl Anderson, Mike Bender, and Martin Hall from Golf Channel’s studios (Orlando, Fla.)
Ritter and tour professional Blair O’Neal also will provide additional insight on Golf Channel throughout the day.
National Instruction Day is the culmination of the 100-day celebration of the PGA of America’s Centennial, which began on Jan. 26 at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. The association was founded in New York City in April, 1916.
