IRVINE, Calif. (May 15,2016) – This week’s winner on the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica carried two Fourteen Golf wedges in his bag.
The 42-year-old native of Savannah played the RM-22 54-degree sand wedge and the RM-22 60-degree lob wedge en route to winning the Casa de Campo Dominican Republic Open at the Teeth of the Dog course at Casa de Campo Resort. The RM-22 wedge recently was named to the 2016 Golf Digest Hot List.
The champion recorded a 10-under par total 278 on rounds of 72-67-68-71, winning by four shots and earning $36,593. The victory elevated him to sixth place on the Tour’s Order of Merit (money list).
“Fourteen Golf would like to congratulate the winner of the Casa de Campo Dominican Republic Open,” said Masashi Kamoda, chief operating officer of Fourteen Golf. “Our company is extremely proud of the quality and performance of our wedges. That the champion chose to trust our wedges to compete in this highly competitive professional tour event is proof of our commitment to excellence.”
Like preceding generations of the RM series, the RM-22 features Fourteen Golf’s original “reverse muscle” tapered design in which the upper blade of the wedge is thicker to allow more weight distribution on the top.
The wedges’ original trapezoidal grooves – known throughout the industry for their exceptional spin quality and control – have been increased 18 percent compared to previous models, fostering better spin and enabling players to excel regardless of lie.
These days, back-spin wedge shots are commonplace on the professional tours, but it was Fourteen Golf’s original MT-28 wedge that made such shots a reality for everyday golfers.
Since 2010, Fourteen Golf has been a part of more than 70 professional victories.
