LAKE MARY, FL – Attendees at the 26th Annual ING Spring Conference will have the opportunity to test the latest and greatest golf products from manufacturers large and small during the popular ING Demo Lab, including taking part in a five-stage Skills Challenge.
The Demo Lab & Skills Challenge will be one of the highlights at the 26th Anniversary ING Spring Conference May 22-26 at Zermatt Resort located in spectacular Heber Valley, UT, just outside Salt Lake City.
The non-profit International Network of Golf, the industry’s only media-based networking organization, conducts this annual gathering of media and golf companies and leaders. ING is “where the media and golf industry connect.”
Anyone in the golf industry and media is invited to join ING and attend the conference. Call 407-328-0500 for details.
Companies with golf clubs, putters, training aids and instructional programs get space on the range and putting green to display product. Attendees, including dozens of golf writers, broadcasters and editors from media outlets across America come through the Lab to capture first-hand knowledge of the equipment.
The Demo Lab is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at the Crater Springs Golf Course practice range, across the street from the host Zermatt Resort.
Scoring for the Skills Challenge will be accumulative, similar to the system used in the popular Drive, Chip & Putt competition that concludes at the Masters each year. The five stations will be Putting with L2 Putters, Chipping with Bridgestone Golf, Fairway Woods Accuracy with TaylorMade Golf, Long Drive with Knuth Golf’s High Heat Driver, and Closest To The Pin With SNAG Golf.
The conference will feature a full schedule of networking and educational events, along with the Demo Lab:
• ONE-ONE-ONE APPOINTMENT SHOW: The Appointment Show was created to place an emphasis on business relations between the media and golf companies, resorts, destinations, golf organizations and entrepreneurs. Participating companies set up tabletop displays. Beginning Monday morning, private meetings with media members and other attendees of their choice will be held every 15 minutes, for five hours over two days.
• EDUCATION: The theme of this year’s educational seminars and workshops is “Bridging Golf’s Generation Gap.” Many of the sessions will feature speakers addressing this key issue to all golf organizations. Other topics include Marketing & PR and Social Media Marketing, among others.
• GOLF: The WAGT National Qualifier on the Mountain Course at Wasatch Mountain Golf Club. This individual stroke play net competition will be divided into five flights. Winners of those flights will earn complimentary entry and accommodations in the World Amateur Golfers Tour National Championship Sept. 20-22 at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, IN.
One of the five ING qualifiers in 2015, golf writer John Duval, won his flight in the National Championship and went on to represent the USA in the World Championship in Turley, expenses paid.
Also, the 9th Annual Durland Cup team scramble will take place on the highly ranked Soldier Hollow Golf Course on Wednesday.
• NETWORKING: Several networking sessions are planned, including the Opening Night Welcome Reception and the Tuesday Night Banquet.
