Angels Camp, CA (May 18, 2016) – Greenhorn Creek Resort, the premiere golf and dining experience in California’s Gold Country, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a little help from its creators including, six-time LPGA major champion and World Golf Hall of Fame member Patty Sheehan, who served as a consultant for the original golf course design and architect Don Boos, the creator of Greenhorn Creek GC.
Also present to commemorate the milestone were Bruce Charlton, President/Chief Design Officer at Robert Trent Jones, II LLC, Trent Jones, son of Robert Trent Jones, Jr., who completed the course redesign and owner of Greenhorn Creek, Stockton-based developer, Fritz Grupe, plus several past resort owners, Barden Stevenot, Bob Trinchero and George Wendt.
“Since opening in 1996, Greenhorn Creek Resort has matured into an outstanding golf course property and memorable experience in the Sierra Foothills,” says Greenhorn Creek General Manager, Mike Kristoff. “With the dedicated support of the Grupe Family, we have been able to provide our members and guests with a top-notch golf course, superior cuisine plus unique amenities including our on-site Cellar Room and five-bedroom Caddy Shack for overnight accommodations.”
The anniversary lineup of festivities kicked off with a ceremonial ribbon cutting with Sheehan and Boos joined by Greenhorn Creek Resort’s General Manager, Mike Kristoff and Assistant General Manager/Director of Golf, Allan Ramorini. That was followed by an 18-hole golf tournament and the day concluded with 160 members and guests enjoying select Calaveras County wines provided by Greenhorn Creek’s vintner members and dinner on the outdoor patio of CAMPS Restaurant overlooking the 18th hole.
