SCOTTSDALE, AZ – May 19, 2016 – Global Golf Management Group, a leading provider of competitive amateur golf events across the United States, today announced the expansion of The United States Golf League. With more than 20 leagues already operating across the country, the United States Golf League is now looking for additional commissioners to start leagues in their respective areas of the country.
Leagues consist of between six and eleven teams, throughout ten different regions within the United States. Each team consists of eight players, all playing a modified best-ball match play format. This unique team competition affords competitive amateur golfers the ability to play with friends and/or other members of their home course against teams from other nearby golf clubs – and then advance to regional and national competitions.
Regional Playoffs will take place in each of the ten (10) regions nationwide. These playoffs will take the top 32 teams from each region (Open & Senior Divisions) and have them compete in a bracketed match-play tournament. The top four teams in each regional playoff will automatically advance to the National Championship. At-large teams will be chosen to complete the National bracket. The National Championship will be a 64-team bracketed match-play tournament to be held November 1-5 at Paiute Golf Resort in Las Vegas, NV.
