ORLANDO, Fla. (May 20, 2016) – Internationally recognized coach Chad Phillips, one of the top junior coaches in the country, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive May 24 and 25.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. Eastern.
Phillips, a performance coach with Game Like Training Golf Academy at Bridgemill Athletic Club in Canton, Ga., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Phillips is making his first appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to appear on Morning Drive and share with the viewers at home some strategies that will help them play better on the course,” said Phillips, who’s dedicated his career to developing aspiring junior golfers and elite level players. “It’s been a great experience to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches. The quality and diversity of the team is something I’m very proud to be associated with.”
Phillips has helped more than 40 students attain college scholarships at the Division I level, including four in 2015. He currently coaches the No. 1-ranked junior in the Junior Golf Scorecard Boys Rankings, and had a player reach the semifinals of the 2015 U.S. Junior Amateur.
A Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 2 and Nike NG360 certified instructor, Phillips previously worked as a Master Instructor with Bann Lynch Golf under Steve Bann and Dale Lynch. Their list of notable students included PGA Tour winners Stuart Appleby, Aaron Baddeley and Robert Allenby, and former U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy. He was also the director of instruction for Blue Giraffe Golf Institute in nearby Tucker, Ga.
As a Golf Channel Academy coach, Phillips continues to teach the way he knows best. The underlying philosophy of Golf Channel Academy is that the best golf “teaching” is done through “coaching” – that is, an on-going relationship between player and teacher devoted to long-lasting improvement.
