BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Aerotech Golf, designer and manufacturer of the No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf, delivered a historically strong performance on four pro tours this weekend. SteelFiber graphite iron shafts scored one victory and six additional Top 10s on the LPGA Tour, PGA TOUR, Champions Tour and Japan Golf Tour.
Playing SteelFiber J108 graphite shafts in her irons, the young pro from Thailand claimed her second consecutive win on the LPGA Tour, winning the LPGA Kingsmill Championship. The SteelFiber J-series is a private label iron shaft specifically developed for Aerotech Golf distributor and clubfitter Big Fish Golf of Singapore. Also at the Kingsmill Championship, SteelFiber i95 and SteelFiber i80 graphite iron shafts delivered T8 and T10 finishes, respectively.
On the PGA TOUR, the 2012 Players Championship winner and seven-time PGA champion played SteelFiber i95 graphite shafts in his irons to finish third at the AT&T Byron Nelson. In other tour action, a 33-year veteran played SteelFiber i95 graphite shafts in his irons and wedges for a T9 finish at the Regions Traditions on the Champions Tour, and SteelFiber graphite iron shafts took Top 10 money internationally as well, with SteelFiber i95 scoring a second-place tie and SteelFiber i110 shafts grabbing a T5 finish at the Kansai Open Golf Championship on the Japan Golf Tour.
“This was one of the strongest single-weekend performances for SteelFiber graphite iron shafts, and we congratulate this week’s LPGA Tour champion for her second straight victory with SteelFiber shafts,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “Unlike traditional steel shafts, SteelFiber shafts deliver unique performance benefits. SteelFiber graphite iron shafts are designed to allow players to perform their best, regardless of playing conditions. They deliver stability and increase distance, while at the same time, they reduce the risk of injury and decrease player fatigue which allows player to finish strong.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
In 2015, SteelFiber shafts delivered seven wins – three on the PGA Tour and two each on the Champions and LPGA Tours. The previous year was equally successful with SteelFiber chalking up five wins on the PGA TOUR and two more on the Champions Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List.
