ORLANDO, Fla. (May 31, 2016) – Top Bluegrass state coach Larry Ward, a four-time Kentucky PGA Teacher of the Year (2011, 2012, 2015, 2016), is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive May 31 and June 1.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. Eastern.
Ward, the owner of High Performance Golf Academy in Lexington, Ky., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Ward is making his first appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m very excited for the opportunity to appear on Morning Drive and to share my expertise with the viewers at home,” said Ward, voted by his peers as the No. 2 teacher in the state of Kentucky in Golf Digest’s most recent rankings of the “Best Teachers in Your State”. “It’s been a great experience to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches. The quality and diversity of the team is something I’m very proud to be associated with.”
Ward, a Future Champions Golf Top 25 Elite Junior Coach in the U.S., has been teaching golf for almost 20 years, during which time he’s conducted more than 22,000 golf lessons and 1,500 club fittings. Ward, who believes in a fundamentally heavy approach to coaching utilizing the TPPM Basic Formula-Technical Training, Physical Training, Proper Equipment, and Mental Training/Goal Setting- teaches many aspiring juniors, mini-tour players, and high school and college athletes. He currently coaches more than 40 college players.
As a Golf Channel Academy coach, Ward continues to teach the way he knows best. The underlying philosophy of Golf Channel Academy is that the best golf “teaching” is done through “coaching” – that is, an on-going relationship between player and teacher devoted to long-lasting improvement.
