ORLANDO, Fla. (June 2, 2016) – Top Michigan coach Dave Kendall, a two-time Michigan PGA Teacher of the Year (2000, 2004), is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive June 7-8.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. Eastern.
Kendall, founder of Kendall Academy of Golf at Miles of Golf in Ypsilanti, Mich., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Kendall is making his first appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m very excited for the opportunity to appear on Morning Drive and to share my favorite short game and full swing tips with the viewers at home,” said Kendall, who started his academy in 1997 after serving 17 years as a Head Professional at Cadillac Country Club in Michigan. “It’s been a great experience to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches. The quality and diversity of the team is something I’m very proud to be associated with.”
An accomplished player and coach, Kendall was voted by his peers as one of the top coaches in the state of Michigan in Golf Digest’s most recent rankings of the “Best Teachers in Your State.” A two-time Michigan Senior Open Champion, Senior PGA Champion and Senior PGA Match Play Champion, he was elected into the Michigan PGA Hall of Fame in 2013 and the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame in 2015. He also has been honored by the Michigan PGA as its Golf Professional of the Year and Horton Smith Award winner for contributions to PGA professional education.
As a Golf Channel Academy coach, Kendall continues to teach the way he knows best. The underlying philosophy of Golf Channel Academy is that the best golf “teaching” is done through “coaching” – that is, an on-going relationship between player and teacher devoted to long-lasting improvement.
