NBC Sports Group Primed To Deliver Live Primetime Coverage Of The LPGA’s Second Major Of 2016, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, June 6-12

Golf Channel and NBC to provide live tournament coverage – the majority in primetime – supplemented by wraparound news coverage throughout the week onsite at Sahalee Country Club near Seattle; Condoleezza Rice and Annika Sorenstam to keynote KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit featuring accomplished leaders inspiring women; streaming live globally across NBCUniversal platforms on Wednesday, June 8

ORLANDO, Fla., May 31, 2016 – NBC Sports Group will dedicate more than 40 hours of comprehensive news and tournament coverage of the LPGA’s second major of 2016, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship – including nearly 15 hours of live tournament coverage on Golf Channel and NBC – taking place at Sahalee Country Club near Seattle, Wash., June 6-12.

The PGA of America and KPMG joined forces with the LPGA Tour in 2015 to create a world-class major championship that not only sustains the 60-year legacy of the former LPGA Championship, but also provides a platform to inspire the next generation of women leaders and a charitable initiative to inspire future generations of leaders. A highlight of the week’s activities surrounding the championship will be the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, gathering some of the biggest names in business, politics, sports and media.

BROADCAST TEAM: Live tournament coverage of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be anchored by Terry Gannon and Hall of Famer Judy Rankin in the broadcast booth for Golf Channel’s Thursday and Friday coverage. Dan Hicks, Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam and Curt Byrum will be in the broadcast booth on the weekend for Golf Channel and NBC. Tom Abbott will be in a tower position, with Kay Cockerill and Mark Rolfing walking the course. Steve Sands will conduct player interviews.

ON-SITE NEWS COVERAGE: Golf Channel’s signature news program, Golf Central, will provide comprehensive, wraparound news coverage beginning Wednesday, June 8, produced on-location at Sahalee Country Club. In addition to daily shows, Golf Central will present special player news conference shows at 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 7-8. Cara Robinson will anchor Golf Central’s live coverage from Sahalee Country Club, joined by analysts Brandel Chamblee and Paige Mackenzie, and Cornwell reporting and conducting player interviews. Golf Channel analyst Karen Stupples will report for Morning Drive throughout the week with special features.

KPMG LEADERSHIP SUMMIT: Golf Central also will offer news coverage of the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, which will be hosted on-site on Wednesday, June 8, and assemble accomplished leaders in sports, business, politics and media to inspire the next generation of women leaders. Condoleezza Rice and Sorenstam will keynote the gathering, with NBC’s Sunday Night Football sideline reporter Michele Tafoya serving as master of ceremonies. Sessions will be moderated by NBC on-air talent including: NBC News and MSNBC Business Correspondent Olivia Sterns, CNBC Contributor Deirdre Bosa and Golf Channel/NBC play-by-play host Gannon. The summit will be streamed live on Wednesday on Golf Live Extra Powered by PlayMaker Media and via CNBC.com.

DIGITAL CONTENT: Golf Channel Digital will feature expanded editorial content during KPMG Women’s PGA Championship week, with Golf Channel Digital senior writer Randall Mell reporting on-site from Sahalee Country Club throughout the week.

STREAMING ON GOLF LIVE EXTRA/NBC SPORTS LIVE EXTRA: All the news and tournament action surrounding the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship can be accessed at any time on any mobile device and online through the help of Golf Channel’s Golf Live Extra.
