(RESTON, VA) – The World’s Largest Golf Outing has named tech innovator VPAR as the official scoring partner of the record-breaking fundraiser set for Monday, August 1.
For the first time, the event will utilize VPAR’s award-winning “Live Scoring” feature. The free VPAR mobile app will act as the official scorecard, as golfers will enter scores after each hole. Course and regional leaderboards will then update in real time on the app, bringing the feel of a professional tournament. The live standings will also be displayed on clubhouse televisions and online at www.worldslargestgolfouting.com.
Aggregated live leaderboards will be available to participating courses in the Northeast, while golfers nationwide can use the app as a personal scorecard, GPS display and stats tracker.
Open to golfers of all skill levels, the World’s Largest Golf Outing is scheduled to be played simultaneously at more than 175 golf courses across America. Last year, 12,397 golfers teed it up at 132 courses and raised more than $1 million for injured veterans. This year, donations made during the biggest one-day celebration of golf and charity will benefit the Fisher House Foundation. The national organization provides military families with places to stay at no cost while loved ones receive vital treatment.
