Volunteer spots available for New England’s premier PGA Tour FedExCup Playoff event at TPC Boston
NORTON, Mass. – The 2016 Deutsche Bank Championship, Labor Day weekend’s finest sporting tradition in New England, is seeking volunteers for more than 20 committees at TPC Boston from Aug. 29-Sept 5.
Volunteers signing up to join the Championship’s “Blue Crew” will receive the most up close and personal experience possible to New England’s premier PGA TOUR FedExCup Playoff event and its field of the top 100 golfers on the PGA TOUR. The thousand plus volunteers which flock to the Deutsche Bank Championship each year are truly the lifeblood of the tournament, supporting the Championship in areas that are equally enjoyable and integral to the operation.
“Blue Crew” team members handle everything from keeping score, marshaling holes, transporting players, assisting spectators with information and much more. All volunteers are asked to work at least three shifts during the tournament week as well as purchase the 2016 Deutsche Bank Championship “Blue Crew” volunteer package for $90, which includes the following:
• One (1) Official Championship Nike golf shirt
• One (1) Official Nike outerwear piece
• One (1) baseball cap or visor
• Continental breakfast on days that you serve as a volunteer
• Complimentary lunch voucher on days that you serve as a volunteer
• Two (2) Championship Grounds Good-Any-Day tickets for a guest
• Complimentary parking for the entire Championship week
Junior volunteer packages (for ages 14-17) may be available depending on assignment. For more information on joining the Deutsche Bank Championship “Blue Crew” and volunteer opportunities, please visit the tournament website, contact Sarah Rapps at bluecrew@tigerwoodsfoundation.org or call tournament headquarters at (508) 285-8333.
The 14th-annual Deutsche Bank Championship is in its 10th year as a FedExCup Playoffs event on the PGA TOUR, and is one of four playoff tournaments which, annually, determines the FedExCup champion. The 2015 Championship concluded with the immensely popular Rickie Fowler hoisting the Wedgwood Trophy following a one-stroke victory over 2013 Deutsche Bank Championship winner Henrik Stenson.

About the Tiger Woods Foundation
Where you come from shouldn’t mean failure. At the Tiger Woods Foundation, it doesn’t. Our programs break the cycle of poverty through college-access opportunities for low-income students. At Tiger Woods Learning Center satellites across the country, scholars in grades 5-12 are immersed in an interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) curriculum. Here, they make the connection between school and career, while planning a road map to college. Tailored to the needs of the first-generation scholar, the Earl Woods Scholarship Program provides four-year college scholarships coupled with an unyielding support system. But we don’t stop there. Through dedicated mentors, professional development workshops and internships, our one-to-one philosophy ensures the success of our students in college and beyond.
