(CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.) – Keswick Hall and Golf Club – the acclaimed 600-acre luxury resort set in Virginia’s scenic Hunt Country – announces its Full Cry at Keswick Golf Club course has received designation as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” from Audubon International.
The Pete Dye-designed layout is one of 36 courses in Virginia and 908 worldwide to receive this honor. To reach certification, a course must demonstrate it is maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas including: Environmental Planning, Wildlife & Habitat Management, Outreach and Education, Chemical Use Reduction and Safety, Water Conservation, and Water Quality Management. Keswick Hall and Golf Club has maintained Audubon International designation since 2002.
This recognition joins numerous recent accolades from significant golf and travel publications. Last November, Full Cry debuted at No. 47 in Golfweek’s “Best Resort Courses.” Full Cry was also honored in Golf Digest’s “2015 Best New Courses.” This year, the resort received the prestigious Forbes Five-Star Award based upon its exceptional level of luxury and service for the second year in a row.
“We’re thrilled Full Cry has been recognized by Audubon International with this coveted designation,” says Will Jones, General Manager. “Thomas Jefferson called this area the ‘Eden of the U.S.’ and we take the environmental stewardship of our beautiful property and golf course seriously.”
