Boyne becomes sponsor of Michigan’s fastest growing golf event
Lansing, MI – Michigan’s fastest growing golf event, the Michigan Golf League Championship (MI GLC), announced Monday that BOYNE Golf, featuring 10 golf courses at three of the Midwest’s premier resorts, has been named an official sponsor for the 2016 season. As part of the new relationship, BOYNE Golf becomes a title sponsor of the Michigan league program which has over 20,000 golfers to date for 2016.
“BOYNE Golf is globally recognized and having them as a partner fits perfectly with the MI GLC fan and player base. We couldn’t be more excited to have them on board,” said Kate Moore, executive director of the Michigan Golf Course Owners Association who manages the Michigan Golf League Championship.
“BOYNE is recognized all over the state and Midwest and is an iconic brand that everyone knows,” said MGCOA president Jeff Hoag (owner of Scott Lake Country Club, Comstock Park). “I’ve been involved with the Michigan Golf League Championship for ten years and am so excited that BOYNE is investing in this amazing Michigan golf program. There are a handful of brands that really legitimize a golf program in Michigan and BOYNE Golf is obviously one of them.”
“We are pleased that BOYNE Golf will now be a part of the Michigan Golf League Championship,” said Bernie Friedrich, Senior Vice President of Golf Operations and Resort Sales for Boyne Resorts. “We look forward to helping golf league players across Michigan enjoy this great sport of ours, and a little bit more.”
Under terms of the agreement, BOYNE Golf will provide a Stay & Play escape for the members of the winning team on Boyne’s award winning courses.
The Golf League Championship will be played at Eagle Eye Golf Course in Bath on Sunday, September 25. This championship golf property has hosted the MI GLC for the past ten years. League golfers from across Michigan are invited to participate in this match play against the filed event with scoring handled by MI GLC’s technology provider Handicomp and the Golf League Network.
