ORLANDO, Fla. (June 29, 2016) – Orlando-area golf instructor Kenny Nairn, an accomplished player, coach and club fitter, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive July 5 and 6.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. Eastern.
Nairn, a professional golf instructor with Celebration Golf Academy in Celebration, Fla., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, also including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Nairn is making his second appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to appear on Morning Drive once again,” said Nairn, a native of St Andrews, Scotland, the Home of Golf. The former PGA Golf Professional at The Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland said, “It’s been a great experience to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches, and I look forward to sharing some of my insights on the upcoming Open Championship at Royal Troon (July 14-17), as well as helping golfers at home.”
Nairn, who captured the professional division of the Wilson World Pro-Am Tournament at Pebble Beach in 2010 and 2013, previously competed in the British Amateur and Scottish Stroke Play Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club, and estimates that he’s played the famed links course more than 40 times. Of Royal Troon he says: “When the wind is blowing, the back nine might be the most difficult stretch of holes in Open golf.”
As a Golf Channel Academy coach, Nairn continues to teach the way he knows best. The underlying philosophy of Golf Channel Academy is that the best golf “teaching” is done through “coaching” – that is, an on-going relationship between player and teacher devoted to long-lasting improvement.
