Bishops Gate Golf Academy, recently established in 2014 with twenty-five students, has grown rapidly and is expecting to limit enrollment to ninety students in the fall of 2016. Students have been attracted to Bishops Gate Golf Academy from all over the world, not only by its outstanding coaching staff, but also because it operates from one of the very best residential golf facilities designed specifically for junior golfers.
Core Golf Academy, under Jackson’s leadership since inception ten years ago, established an excellent reputation for developing young golfers. Jackson, the founder of Core and a former touring pro, golf coach and golf facility manager, begun serving as CEO of Bishops Gate Golf Academy earlier this month. He is applying his expertise and deep knowledge of golf to enhance the outstanding experience Bishops Gate Golf Academy already offers. Jackson anticipates that a number of students who attended Core Golf will be seeking to enroll at Bishops Gate Golf Academy for the coming year.
Over $20m has been invested in the Bishops Gate facilities, located in a secure gated residential community that serves as the campus for its students. Student athletes can easily walk from their town home residences to the large 16-acre golf range or play 11 specially designed practice holes, which also double as part of a challenging 18 hole golf layout. Students walk or ride golf carts to the central catering hall, to a fitness facility, the swimming pool, basketball court, or tennis courts. This ready access enables them to enjoy life on a safe and self-contained campus.
The unrivalled golf training facilities, combined with the year-round Florida climate, have enabled Bishops Gate Golf Academy to assemble an outstanding group of coaches led by Kevin Smeltz, a top one hundred coach and Jonathan Yarwood, a master golf coach who guided Michael Campbell to US Open success.
