Orlando, Fla. (July 7, 2016) – Former PGA TOUR star and celebrated golf broadcaster Bobby Clampett, has been named an instructor for Golf Channel Academy.

The first lifetime member of the PGA TOUR named a PGA Master Professional in Teaching and Coaching, Clampett is among the game’s most influential and recognizable teachers who have established a dedicated network of instruction facilities with the active support of Golf Channel, the game’s leading global multimedia and golf entertainment source.

“I’m very excited to be among these dynamic coaches associated with the Golf Channel Academy,” said Clampett, the founder and CEO of Impact Zone Golf, and the originator of Impact-Based® instruction, with two locations in Naples, Fla. “This is a chance for golf coaches to work together, learning from one another and adopting best practices in both coaching, to better serve the golfing public. My goal is to help our clients learn to play, play better and enjoy playing golf more.”

Launched in April 2015, Golf Channel Academy is the first network of its kind devoted to efficiently growing the business of golf instruction. With more than 70 locations, Golf Channel Academy will be inviting additional coaches to become part of the network as it continues to grow.

The new Golf Channel Academy locations in Naples are at Impact Zone Golf World Headquarters Indoor Studio and at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort’s Tiburón Golf Club.

Perhaps best known for his spectacular amateur and collegiate playing career and as a golf analyst for CBS and TNT, in 2015 Clampett added his PGA Master Professional – the highest designation a PGA member can attain – to his resume.

A three-time All-American and two-time Collegiate Golfer of the Year at Brigham Young University, Clampett turned professional after his junior year at BYU. Two years later, he nearly won the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links, just down the road from his hometown of Carmel Calif., finishing tied for third, four shots behind Tom Watson.

Clampett played for 16 years on the PGA TOUR, winning the 1982 Southern Open, before transitioning into television as an on-course reporter and then analyst and commentator for CBS Sports in the mid-90s. He was also the lead golf analyst for Turner Sports from 1996-2007.

Today, Clampett provides commentary and analysis for CBS Sports for The Masters and PGA Championship, through Masters.com’s and CBSSports.com’s online coverage. This year marked the 25th consecutive year that Clampett called the action from Augusta National Golf Club.

In 2008 Clampett founded Impact Zone Golf, a revolutionary Impact-Based® training system that concentrates on improving a player’s impact position rather than his or her “style” of swing. The program is based on Clampett’s best-selling instructional book, “The Impact Zone: Mastering Golf’s Moment of Truth,” published in 2007.

When Clampett turned 50 in 2010, he returned to competitive play on the PGA TOUR Champions, enjoying seven top-five finishes.

One of the premier golf instructors in America today, Clampett has assembled a talented Golf Channel Academy staff at the two Naples, Fla., locations. Coaches includes senior staff instructors Paul Celano and Tom O’Brien, instructors Josh Jeffers, Bernard Sheridan, Melissa Dziabo, Dan Grannan, Alex Giguere, and Evan Kussoff, a biomechanics specialist. Clampett’s wife Marianna Clampett serves as mindset coach.
