Youth On Course Celebrates 10th Anniversary With Special Initiatives

July 7, 2016

(PEBBLE BEACH, CA) – Youth on Course – the golf non-profit providing young people with subsidized rounds, college scholarships, paid internships and other access benefits – recognizes a decade of service with promotions, fundraisers and milestones.

The rapidly expanding organization – with nearly 15,000 members across 12 states – will celebrate its 10th anniversary on July 10, with a $1 playing rate at hundreds of courses as part of “Youth on Course Day.” The event will also raise awareness of the many physical, mental and social benefits to participating in golf. For a list of participating courses visit www.youthoncourse.org.

Looking to pay it forward for new members, Youth on Course is also challenging current participants to raise $10,000 before July 10. The funds will help provide access to affordable golf rounds at hundreds of courses all year at YOC’s “$5 or less” mandate. The largest individual fundraisers members for the “PLEDGE IT” campaign are eligible for prizes.

Corresponding with the anniversary, Youth on Course unveiled a new website that makes it easier for junior golfers to join, find partner courses and learn more about the program.

“We believe more than ever that YOC benefits young people on and off course, and we’re ecstatic that the program is being embraced so deeply,” says Youth on Course Executive Director Adam Heieck. “The support from individual donors and the golf industry has helped us expand significantly, and it will continue to aid us in making affordable golf available to youth throughout America.”

Born from the Northern California Golf Association, Youth on Course has subsidized about 400,000 greens fees to help courses fill unused tee times and remove a major financial barrier for young golfers. The organization’s “$5 or less” per round trademark has enabled thousands of children and teens to regularly participate in the sport. In addition to round subsidies, YOC awards college scholarships, paid internships and caddie programs to deserving members.
