“Our goal this season was to create functional styles for everyday situations that convey a little more sophistication without sacrificing comfort,” said David Shaffer, director of marketing at Imperial Headwear. “Lightweight performance styles continue to be the future of golf headwear, and Imperial is leading that trend with our X210P and Coolcore® fabrications. But now we have so much more to talk about with our lifestyle focus.”
Imperial’s new lifestyle approach is highlighted by the Heritage Collection, which uses vintage and retro styling to achieve updated classics and heritage performance looks. The Heritage Collection mainly consists of cotton based fabrics, such as garment washed twill (1977 “The Miller” and 1208 “The Boulevard”) and pigment dyed cotton (X230 “The Kenmore” and 2103 “The Shoreline”), but also includes a few performance styles like 4054 “The Harris,” a new age retro rope cap, and 1183 “The Jones” which is a color blocked tech cap using X210P fabric. Colors are very important to all the Heritage Collection styles, ranging from earth tones to soft pastels.
“I’m very excited to launch Imperial’s 2017 catalog and see our customers’ reaction to all the new product,” said Dan Parenti, creative director at Imperial Headwear. “We spent a great deal of time researching and developing this line. It might be our best one ever.”
The signature collection from Imperial – appropriately named “One 9 One 6 Collection” which references the Company’s established year of 1916 – is also expanding this season with 8 new looks including the one size fits most visor “The Ellsworth” and the micro-perforated “The Cherry Creek.” Every product in One 9 One 6 Collection is named after a street in Denver, Colorado where the company was headquartered for almost a century, and incorporates a unique premium performance fabric. Every detail and every stitch has been considered during the design process of this collection, resulting in best in class signature headwear styles for the hat enthusiast.
Cooling textiles are the next generation of performance fabrics, and Imperial is leading this trend with its Coolcore® Collection. Coolcore® is a chemical-free cooling technology that has been proven to perform far superior to any competitive textile. Imperial has expanded its cooling collection to 10 styles, highlighted by two new sun protection options in CC050 “The Old Norse” and CC051 “The Geysir.” Imperial has also added an Instant Cooling Towel now available with optional club logo in a one-color silver heat seal.
Peripheral categories, such as Ladies and Junior fit caps, have also been considered by Imperial Headwear in 2017. Several new ladies caps have been added for the everyday woman on the move, such as the sporty L331 “The Dahlia” with floral perforation patterns or L333 “The Reactor,” which is recognized by its brightly colored heathered performance fabric. Fashionable Junior caps are a great opportunity to build incremental revenue for accounts willing to try some trendy new styles in S1200 “The Mascot” (a snapback, flat bill) and S1201 “The Lickspittle” (featuring an iridescent printing on the visor).
