Orlando, Fla. (July 26, 2016) – Josh Cook, the No. 1-ranked golf teacher in the state of Kansas, has been named an instructor for Golf Channel Academy.

A five-time winner of the South Central Section PGA Teacher of the Year Award, Cook is among the game’s most influential and recognizable teachers who have established a dedicated network of instruction facilities with the active support of Golf Channel, the game’s leading global multimedia and golf entertainment source.

“I’m very excited to be among these dynamic coaches associated with Golf Channel Academy,” said Cook, who is the owner of Josh Cook Golf, at Terradyne Country Club in Wichita, Kansas. “This is a chance for golf coaches to work together, learning from one another and adopting best practices in both coaching, to better serve the golfing public. My goal is to help our clients learn to play, play better, and enjoy playing golf more.”

Launched in April 2015, Golf Channel Academy is the first network of its kind devoted to efficiently growing the business of golf instruction. With 68 locations, Golf Channel Academy will be inviting additional coaches to become part of the network as it continues to grow.

A native of Kansas, Cook earned athletic scholarships at both Butler Community College in his hometown of El Dorado, and Kansas State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.

Cook began his golf coaching career in Dallas under the tutelage of Hank Haney, where he was a Head Instructor for Hank Haney Golf. Cook then returned to Kansas, where he served as a PGA Assistant Golf Professional and then PGA Director of Instruction at Wichita Country Club. Cook taught at WCC for 13 years before striking out on his own in early 2016.

The 2013 Kansas Chapter Junior Leader of the Year, Cook has coached more than 30 Wichita-area high school students to Division I college scholarships. Among Cook’s most notable students is two-time LPGA Tour and Futures Tour winner Katherine Hull-Kirk.

One of the premier golf instructors in America today, Cook enjoys helping all levels of golfers and has certifications with AimPoint (Level 2), Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), Plane Truth Golf Instruction (Level 2) and Mike Adams Swing Biodynamics (Level 1).

Named the top teacher in Kansas by Golf Digest magazine for 2015-2016, Cook also is a former U.S. Kids Golf Honorable Mention Instructor.
