Orlando, Fla. (August 1, 2016) – David Impastato, one of the top-ranked golf teachers in Illinois, has been named an instructor for Golf Channel Academy.
The owner of Studio 59 Golf Learning Center in Batavia, Ill., Impastato is among the game’s most influential and recognizable teachers who have established a dedicated network of instruction facilities with the active support of Golf Channel, the game’s leading global multimedia and golf entertainment source.
“I’m very excited to be among these dynamic coaches associated with the Golf Channel Academy,” said Impastato, who also is a Golf Channel Academy co-lead coach with Rick Sellers at The Links at Ireland Grove in nearby Bloomington. “This is a chance for golf coaches to work together, learning from one another and adopting best practices in both coaching, to better serve the golfing public. My goal is to help our clients learn to play, play better and enjoy playing golf more.”
Launched in April 2015, Golf Channel Academy is the first network of its kind devoted to efficiently growing the business of golf instruction. With 68 locations, Golf Channel Academy will be inviting additional coaches to become part of the network as it continues to grow.
Ranked among the 10 “Best Teachers” in the state of Illinois by Golf Digest magazine, Impastato has been a Class A PGA member since 1995. Throughout his career Impastato has had the opportunity to work with some of the game’s top instructors, including Stan Utley, Hank Haney, Jimmy Ballard and Jim Hardy. He is currently a member of the Nike Elite Advisory Staff and is a former Titleist advisory staff member and Ping Regional Fitter of the Year.
For many years, Impastato’s focus has been on developing competitive junior golfers. In 2008 he started a highly successful Piper Glen Junior Golf Tour that sponsored more than 100 tournaments throughout Illinois with nearly 800 junior players competing.
Most recently, Impastato was the Director of Golf Operations at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club, serving Cog Hill in various merchandising, tournament operations and corporate event planning capacities. Prior to that, Impastato owned his own golf facility, Piper Glen Golf Club in Springfield, and also served as the Head Golf Professional at St. Charles Country Club in St. Charles, Ill.
Impastato also currently teaches seasonally at Mill Creek Golf Club in Geneva, Ill., and coming in Spring 2017, at the NBC Golf Channel Academy at Mooseheart in Batavia, Ill. Impastato is also the owner/operator of the indoor Studio59, located in Batavia.
