ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 22, 2016) – Renowned Rochester-area instructor Brian Jacobs, an accomplished PGA Professional, player and caddie, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive August 23 and 24.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. Eastern.
Jacobs, owner and director of instruction for Brian Jacobs Golf at Ridgemont Country Club in Rochester, N.Y., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Jacobs is making his first appearance on Morning Drive.
“It’s a tremendous thrill and honor to appear on Morning Drive,” said Jacobs, a former recipient of the PGA of America’s President’s Council for Growth of the Game Participation award. “It’s been a great experience to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches. The quality and diversity of the team is something I’m very proud to be associated with.”
A 15-year teaching veteran, Jacobs brings a unique “inside the ropes” perspective to his coaching, having caddied in a U.S. Amateur and on the LPGA Tour. He also holds a Master of Education degree from the State University of New York College at Brockport and trained under celebrated teacher Hank Haney, a former swing coach to Tiger Woods. A Hank Haney Golf Certified Pro, Jacobs also holds certifications from TrackMan and Eyeline Golf 4 Putting Elements.
Jacobs has coached at several of the finest facilities in the Greater Rochester Area, including Locust Hill Country Club, Country Club of Rochester, and Irondequoit Country Club. He specializes in analyzing, diagnosing and fixing flaws in his students’ games both on and off the course.
As a Golf Channel Academy coach, Jacobs continues to teach the way he knows best. The underlying philosophy of Golf Channel Academy is that the best golf “teaching” is done through “coaching” – that is, an on-going relationship between player and teacher devoted to long-lasting improvement.
