CARLSBAD, Calif. (August 29, 2016) – Mizuno has selected Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO MODUS3 TOUR 105 to be the stock steel shaft worldwide for its new JPX-900 Hot Metal irons, which are designed to offer more forgiveness and distance to golfers who play them.

“For the JPX-900 HOT METAL, the N.S. PRO MODUS3 TOUR 105 gave us the perfect combination of light weight steel shaft performance with a high level of solid feel and control,” said David Llewellyn, Director of Research and Development for Mizuno USA. “Also, this shaft is a great addition to our custom fitting program and will be available in all our models at no up-charge through our network of Performance Fitting Systems.”

This marks the first time Mizuno has offered the N.S. PRO MODUS3 TOUR 105 as a stock or custom shaft, according to Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft.

“Nippon Shaft is pleased that Mizuno – one of the most respected brands in sports – will offer our N.S. PRO MODUS3 TOUR 105 as a stock in its new JPX-900 Hot Metal irons,” Fukuda said. “Mizuno and Nippon Shaft have partnered together on various products over the years and Nippon Shaft is very excited with this most recent development. We are equally excited that the Tour 105 will join our N.S. PRO 950GH as no up-charge custom shaft options for all Mizuno irons.”

The Mizuno JPX-900 Hot Metal iron sets (4-PW, GW) are expected to retail for $900.

The N.S. PRO 950GH will continue to be available as Mizuno custom orders with no upcharge, Fukuda said.

Nippon Shaft recently won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the Olympic golf competition in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, Nippon Shaft was used by the “Champion Golfer of the Year” to win this year’s British Open at Royal Troon. The winner of the U.S. Women’s Open and the runner-up at the Ricoh Women’s British Open also used Nippon Shaft in their irons.

Over the years, Nippon Shaft recorded hundreds of victories on professional golf tours worldwide, as the best players in the world increasingly chose to install in their irons steel shafts manufactured in Japan to unparalleled quality standards.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands. In addition, Nippon Shaft products are available through Nippon Shaft’s dedicated global club fitter network. Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com

Nippon Shaft manufactures all of its steel and graphite shafts in a state-of-the-art factory in Komagane, Japan. The company’s integrated production lines are strictly monitored and controlled with thorough checks conducted responsibly through the entire production process

Based in Yokohama, Japan, Nippon Shaft is the No. 1-selling steel shaft in Asia. Nippon Shaft is a privately-held subsidiary of NHK Spring Co. LTD, a Japanese automobile parts manufacturer. Nippon Shaft’s North American headquarters is in Carlsbad.
