Scottsdale, Ariz. (August 30, 2016) – Troon®, the leader in golf course management, development, and marketing, and Florida State University’s Dedman School of Hospitality are proud to announce a unique partnership aimed at growing and developing future leaders in the global club management and hospitality industries. The partnership, which will begin this fall semester, will focus on four key components, including:
Student Leadership and Management Training Program – A number of students from FSU’s Dedman School of Hospitality majoring in Global Club Management will be selected to attend and participate in Troon’s annual leadership conference. In addition, select students will be placed into management internship training at Troon-managed properties and at Troon’s corporate offices in Scottsdale, Ariz. and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
International Internship Program – Troon and FSU will annually place a select number of interns from the Global Club Management major at Troon-managed private clubs and golf resorts abroad.
Recruiting Program – Troon’s Human Resources team will attend the Dedman School of Hospitality’s annual Internship Expo and will promote seasonal job opportunities at Troon facilities to all Global Club Management and Hospitality majors.
Information Sharing – Troon will share current trends and information with the Dedman School of Hospitality’s faculty to help in the real-world education process of students. Conversely, students and faculty will provide Troon with fresh perspectives and ideas and will also share the latest academic studies that impact the club and hospitality industries.
“We’re seeing tremendous global growth in the club and hospitality industry and are always seeking talented, well-qualified individuals to work at the facilities we manage,” said John Easterbrook, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Troon. “This is an exciting partnership with Florida State University and one that will benefit all involved – students, faculty, Troon-managed facilities and our guests.”
