ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 2, 2016) – Denver-area golf coach Trent Wearner, Golf Digest magazine’s No. 1-rated teacher in the state of Colorado since 2013, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive September 6 and 7.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. Eastern.
Wearner, owner of the Trent Wearner Golf Academy at Meridian Golf Club in Englewood, Colo., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Wearner is making his second appearance on Morning Drive. He also was one of several PGA Professionals to take part in National Instruction Day on Golf Channel in early May.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be appearing on Morning Drive once again,” said Wearner, a former two-time Colorado PGA Section Teacher of the Year (2004, ’14) and U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Instructor, “just as it is to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches. I look forward to sharing some of my insights on the swing and how to practice more effectively, which is so critical to scoring better on the course.”
Wearner is the author of the book, Golf Scrimmages: Realistic Practice Games Under Pressure, which also has a companion website, www.golfscrimmages.com. The book contains more than 100 competitive practice games designed to simulate the same pressures and situations golfers confront on the course.
A recent recipient of the Colorado PGA’s Player Development Award, Wearner is one of the most sought-after junior coaches in the Southwestern U.S. His elite junior program has produced more than 80 collegiate golfers and numerous mini-tour professionals. Also an accomplished player, Trent was recruited to play at Colorado State University and still competes in a number of Colorado PGA Section events.
