When you talk about a passion for golf, there is perhaps no woman in Asia who possesses a greater burning passion for the game than South Vietnam’s Madame Nguyen Thi Nga.
She is so passionate about the game that she proudly proclaims: “I love golf – golf is my life”. Madame Nga is widely regarded as Vietnam’s top woman entrepreneur and one of the ventures included in her multi-billion dollar business empire has to do with the game of golf.
Her initiatives in golf development over the past few years are a study of a well-thought up programme to grow the game of golf in the country. It is not just about opening new golf courses but more of a holistic programme designed to develop facilities throughout the country, to expose as many Vietnamese people to the game and to provide employment to the people of the nation and to generate revenue, especially in the tourism sector through the promotion of golf tourism.
This commitment has unanimously qualified Madame Nga to be nominated for the prestigious Asia Pacific Golf Entrepreneur Of The Year Award. This is the first time that a woman is being recognised for this prestigious award.
“Madame Nga is being recognised for more than developing golf courses – she is being recognised for her tremendous passion for the game of golf and for her mission to help young Vietnamese learn how to play golf for free,” declared Angela Raymond, president of APGG.
Madame Nga’s Hanoi-based BRG Group is playing a massive role in the growth and development of golf in Vietnam. Under her leadership, it has signed a landmark brand exclusivity contract for golf course design with Nicklaus Design, which covers 22 provinces in key regions of Vietnam. The contract binds the two companies’ long-term commitment to each other and to the game of golf in Vietnam.
This collaboration is expected to help set very high standards for golf development and is expected to benefit the future of the game of golf in Vietnam.
“BRG Golf is not just a business – it is also a very important mission that comes from my heart and the minds of my professional golf management team to refresh the Vietnamese golf industry and bring New Vitality to the game countrywide. I am a passionate golfer myself and I love this game. Now I want to give golfers an opportunity to experience the highest international standards and so I chose Nicklaus Design, the best in the world, as my exclusive partner. Together we will realize my golfing vision for Vietnam”.
Madame Nga will be honoured with the award at a special ceremony to be staged at the Asian Golf Awards that will be held at the Thai resort city of Hua Hin on October 30. It will be part of the 2016 Asia Pacific Golf Summit. Delegate registration is open at: https://secure.golfconference.org/event/asia-pacific-golf-summit-2016
