ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 8, 2016) – Jacksonville-area golf coach Kirk Jones, a two-time North Florida PGA Northern Chapter Teacher of the Year (2005, 2007), is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive September 13 and 14.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. Eastern.
Jones, owner of the Golf Channel Academy with Kirk Jones at Windsor Parke Golf Club in Jacksonville, Fla., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Jones is making his first appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to appear on Morning Drive,” said Jones, a pioneer in using ball flight data and full swing video with more than 35 years of coaching and club fitting experience. “It’s been a great experience to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches and I look forward to sharing some of my best tips and insights on game-improvement with the viewers at home.”
Jones is the author of two books: The Fundamental Golf Swing 2013 and Golf Fundamentals: A Guide to Successfully Learning to Play and Enjoy the Sport, a how-to guide to learning the swing and various shot skills for every level of golfer. An accomplished player with more than more than 100 professional (non-PGA Tour) and amateur wins spanning five decades, Jones has conducted more than 50,000 lessons during his career. A standout player while at Centenary College of Louisiana, he was the top performing underclassmen in the 1981 NCAA Championships.
As a Golf Channel Academy coach, Jones continues to teach the way he knows best. The underlying philosophy of Golf Channel Academy is that the best golf “teaching” is done through “coaching” – that is, an on-going relationship between player and teacher devoted to long-lasting improvement.
