PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C., Sept. 9, 2016 – Golfweek magazine’s 2016 Collegiate Series makes its way to the South Carolina coast for the annual Program Challenge Tournament Sept. 10-13, 2016. Local award-winning courses Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club are hosting the event for the seventh consecutive year; this year’s tournament will feature 16 NCAA Division I men’s and women’s teams from 11 different states.
The men and women will be broken up into two different divisions, with the men competing at True Blue and the women teeing off at Caledonia. The Program Challenge Tournament will hand out titles to the top men’s and women’s team, along with an overall team title to one collegiate program, which is determined by the program’s men’s and women’s combined total score
The 16 schools slated to participate include: Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio), Western Carolina University (Cullowhee, N.C.), Boston College (Chestnut Hill, Mass.), Campbell University (Buies Creek, N.C.), Elon University (Elon, N.C.), Gardner-Webb University (Gardner Webb, N.C.), Houston Baptist University (Houston, Texas), Jacksonville University (Jacksonville, Fla.), Jacksonville State University (Jacksonville, Ala.), James Madison University (Harrisonburg, Va.), Mercer University (Macon, Ga.), Morehead State University (Morehead, Ky.), Radford University (Radford, Va.), Stetson University (DeLand, Fla.), Tennessee Tech University (Cookeville, Tenn.) and Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, Ind.).
